1. International Folklore Festival “Hitha Mithuru” (Hereinafter designated “Festival”) takes place in annually in August in Colombo (Sri Lanka

The purpose of the festival is to promote traditional cultural heritage; strengthen international contacts and cultural connections; expand range of interests; exchange of knowledge, experience, cultural and folk traditions. 3 Organizers of the festival make a special inclination on youth and involve young fellows and girls for cooperation, understanding that future lies specifically in their hands, although the festival is a wonderful and substantial leisure-time for people of various age categories. 4. The LIFE CULTURAL FORUM and SWARNABHOOMI are the founders and organizers of the «Hitha Mithuru» festival. 5. Festival program includes: - festival and gala-concerts - marching-parades - “out of town” concerts - festive divine service - folk skilled craftsmen fair of festival's countries-participants - presentation of national cuisine countries-participants - Traditional Martial Arts of Sri Lanka - evenings of friendship - excursions and 07 day complementary tour itinerary. |
2. Conditions of Participation
2.1. The festival is not competitive by it's content. 2.2 The participants of the festival are folklore groups, which present authentic, adapted or stylized folklore of their countries. The age of participants varies from 18 years old and above. Only traditional and stylized national dance groups accompanied by live music can apply. 2.3 Every group prepares program for the concert with the following duration of the performance: - 1 х 20-25 minutes - for the festival concerts on the open stage - 1 х 5-7 minutes – performance for the official opening ceremony - 1 х 5-7 minutes – performance for the official closing ceremony - 3-5 minutes – for publicity performance during marching parades - 1 х 10 minutes - for gala-concerts 2.4 The maximum number of participants in a group is 30 persons (including group leader, attendant personnel etc.). 2.5 During the festival groups are considered to be at the festival organizers disposal and take part in all festival arrangements. 2.6 The festival will be completely covered by various mass media. 2.7 Sri Lankan groups should cover all the expenditures for participation in the festival on their own. 2.8 The foreign festival participants cover expenditures, such as transport to the Colombo, Sri Lanka and back. The administration of the festival covers the accommodation costs, food, first aid Medical, transport services within the country and excursions and complementary 07 day tour for all foreign groups. If participants have their own transport, the organizing party is not responsible for operating malfunctions. 2.9 In case of necessity foreign groups must obtain visa for entering Sri Lanka. 2.10 Foreign groups must have medical insurance policies for every member. 3. Terms of applications submission for the participation in the festival 1. For participation in the festival a completed application form has to be submitted. The deadline for submission is the 31stof February 2015. 2. Group submits advertising materials (hard copy by post and in digital electronic image): according to the conditions mentioned in application form. |
